Job Purpose
The Electrical & Electronic Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing maintenance, overhauling, troubleshooting, and design activities related to diesel engines, gearboxes, generators, and associated electrical / electronic systems. The role involves leading project teams, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and delivering reliable engineering solutions onboard vessels and within workshop environments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Project & Team Leadership
- Supervise and lead project teams for maintenance and overhauling jobs onboard vessels and in workshops.
- Provide technical guidance, documentation, and support to subordinates and workshop teams.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Represent the company at meetings, conferences, and technical presentations when required.
Engineering & Design
Plan, conceptualize, and develop electrical and electronic designs for new and existing projects.Perform engineering calculations to support maintenance, repair, and system upgrades.Create, review, and approve technical drawings, reports, and specifications.Conduct simulations and analyze test data to validate system performance.Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Inspect engines, generators, transmissions, and related systems to identify defects.Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using diagnostic tools and computer-assisted testing.Dismantle, repair, rebuild, and assemble engines, generators, and mechanical components as per service manuals.Test and adjust repaired electrical / electronic components to ensure proper performance and reliability.Resolve reported technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed documentation to track project progress, designs, and modifications.Keep logs of work performed and prepare clear technical and service reports.Ensure all records comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.Planning, Budget & Safety
Estimate project budgets, timelines, and resource requirements.Ensure projects are completed within agreed scope, time, and cost.Monitor workshop tools, machinery, and equipment to maintain quality and operational standards.Ensure all equipment, systems, and activities comply with health, safety, and marine regulations.Work Environment

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field3–5 years of relevant engineering experienceStrong understanding of electrical and electronic system design and maintenanceExperience in simulations, testing, and data analysisProficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, and similar toolsERP / SAP knowledge is an advantageValid UAE Light Vehicle Driving License (preferred)Key Skills & Competencies
