Interior Designer

Your Role

Gensler UAE is seeking an Interior Designer with a strong passion for design. In this position, you will collaborate with our Design Directors and design leadership on a variety of exciting hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, entertainment and retail projects.

What You Will Do

• An integral part of the design team, you will work towards a cohesive and rational design solution which conforms to the project brief and is technically, legally and financially responsible.
• Contribute to the “team effort” method of producing design projects.
• Under the direction of senior designers, you will help prepare the design analysis and research.
• Participate in project meetings at the discretion of the Design Manager.
• Help solve complex design problems through schematic design and design development.
• Under guidance of senior designers, you will support the preparation of graphic materials for presentation to client.
• Research and recommend appropriate systems, materials and finishes.
• Present design schemes and documents to the Design Manager.
• Help the design development package for production.
• Work with technical coordinator and technical team to ensure design intent is accurately interpreted in documents.
• With Design Manager, liaise as necessary with client on issues of design.
• Perform interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents.
• Provides design support for completion and execution of design projects.
• Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents.
• Participates in selection of FF&E color palettes & material presentations and generate specifications.
• Support project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them. Coordinate sustainability targets with project consultants and engineers.
• Implement sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.
• Work collaboratively with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
• Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
