Job Description
Talented and driven lead QS required to support in the management of and drive the UAE Cost Management Team. You will play a crucial role in providing expert cost management and consultancy services for various construction projects across the region.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects of varying scales and complexities
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality
- Develop and maintain cost models, benchmarks, and databases to support accurate cost planning
- Prepare and analyze bills of quantities, tender documents, and contract documentation
- Provide expert advice on procurement strategies and contract administration
- Monitor and report on project costs, including cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete estimates
- Identify and mitigate potential cost risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure best value for clients
- Prepare monthly cost reports and presentations for clients and project stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers
- Stay updated on local building codes, regulations, and industry trends in Dubai and the UAE
- Support and mentor younger team members
- Assist with business development and growth
This is a client facing role and the candidate will be responsible for presenting cost plans / estimates and discussing strategic commercial responses on a portfolio of projects.
Qualifications
BSc QS, MRICSMiddle East experience is essential; Consultancy background preferredFluent spoken and written English; Arabic an advantageMinimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying / cost consultancy, preferably in the Middle East regionProven track record in managing large-scale construction projectsProficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelStrong mathematical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detailExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team membersIn-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and current market ratesAbility to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlinesStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong team management skillsSeniority level
