A Painter is responsible for applying paint varnish and other finishes to buildings structures machinery and other surfaces The role involves preparing surfaces selecting appropriate materials and ensuring highquality finishes that meet safety and aesthetic standards Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning sanding scraping and applying primers or sealers Select and mix paints stains varnishes and other finishing materials according to specifications Apply paint or coatings using brushes rollers or spray equipment Repair surface imperfections such as cracks holes or rust before painting Follow safety procedures including proper handling and disposal of paints and solvents Use scaffolding ladders or lifts safely to access high or difficult areas Ensure paint finishes are even smooth and durable Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades for timely completion of painting tasks Keep work areas clean and organized
