Role Overview
A prestigious tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join its advanced surgical and critical care team. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures while contributing to teaching, research, and clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing elective and emergency procedures.
- Develop individualized anesthetic plans based on patient history, surgical needs, and perioperative risk.
- Monitor and manage patients throughout the perioperative period, including post-anesthesia recovery.
- Supervise and mentor junior anesthetists, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in pediatric code blue and critical care response teams.
- Contribute to departmental teaching, simulation training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with SCFHS regulations and hospital policies.
- Engage in clinical research and continuing medical education.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Anesthesiology.
- Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from a recognized institution.
- Board-certified (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent).
- Minimum 2–5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric anesthesia.
- Eligible for Consultant classification by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong communication and crisis management skills.
