Qualifications

Degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years experience in construction supervision of transport infrastructure projects, such as bridges.
Experience working in the Pacific or similar environments is required.
Familiarity with FIDIC Conditions of Contract and construction supervision.

Input Duration

Minimum of 38 man-months

Responsibilities

Oversee the delivery of services to ensure timely and effective project and contract completion.

Manage the consultant team to fulfill their contractual responsibilities.

Monitor project progress, report on issues and resolutions to FRA and ADB / WB.

Prepare and review progress reports, sector reports, and the project completion report for FRA and ADB / WB.

Coordinate with third parties on site-related matters requiring their input.

Review and approve all Temporary Traffic Management Plans to ensure safety and minimize delays.

Assist in preparing progress reports concerning contract supervision and construction progress.

Evaluate and facilitate resolution of contract variation requests due to unforeseen conditions or scope changes.

Review payment certifications for compliance and quality standards.

Identify potential design-related problems and propose solutions.

The Contract Engineer will be based in Suva, maintaining ongoing awareness of work progress and contractual issues.
