The Role:

As a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist, you will provide expert diagnosis and management of complex eye disorders in children, contributing to the continued development of high‑quality ophthalmic services. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of experienced consultants and participate actively in teaching, training, and clinical research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist clinical care to paediatric patients with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
• Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support academic and teaching activities within the institution's training programmes.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with the institution's academic mission.

Requirements:

• Recognised medical degree and completion of specialist training in Ophthalmology with subspecialty expertise in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
• Board Certification (UK CCT, US/Canadian Board, Australian/NZ Fellowship, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3‑5 years' post‑consultant experience.
• Proven track record in clinical excellence, teaching, and research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient‑centred care.
