Head of Content – Wasl Channel
Wasl Channel is seeking a Head of Content to lead its content team and oversee day-to-day editorial operations.
Scope of Work
The Head of Content is responsible for leading Wasl’s content direction, managing the content team, and ensuring smooth coordination with production, presenters, reporters, and clients.
This role balances strategy and execution, ensuring content quality, cultural sensitivity, and operational efficiency.
This role reports directly to the Channel Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the content team (Writer, Researcher, Field Researcher), with team growth expected over time.
- Propose content ideas, plans, and strategies aligned with Wasl’s vision.
- Develop and manage monthly content plans.
- Ensure all content aligns with local community values, traditions, and sensitivities.
- Maintain editorial quality, consistency, and clarity across all outputs.
Coordination with Production
Coordinate closely with the Head of Production to align content objectives with shooting and execution.Ensure the purpose (“why”) of each piece of content is clearly defined before production starts.Prepare content briefs and align on scope prior to filming.Final approval initially remains with the Channel Lead, transitioning to the Head of Content once fully established.Presenters & Reporters
Act as the main point of contact for presenters and field reporters.Coordinate requirements, schedules, and on-ground needs.Prepare and structure questions and editorial direction.Handle coordination and approvals for shooting in specific locations.Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams.Meet with clients from the government, private sector, companies, and other entities.Receive client requests and translate them into clear content requirements.Decide whether requests are handled directly within the content team or delegated to other departments.Ensure clear communication and smooth delivery from brief to execution.Content Coverage
Street and field reportsSocial media content (carousels, posts)Platform X contentShort reports and community-driven contentWorkflow & Operations
Manage daily editorial meetings.Oversee content workflow and information gathering.Ensure proper documentation and organization using Monday.com and Google Drive.Provide regular updates and reports to the Channel Lead.Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in content leadership and team management.Ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on.Strong communication and coordination skills.Deep understanding of community-focused and culturally sensitive content.Fluent in Arabic (primary working language).Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Strong organizational and decision-making skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
