Dental Production Lab Technician

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Examines, understands and follows the dentist's prescription and the required dental procedure.
• Provides (if needed) chair-side assistance to the dentists in the fabrication of dental prostheses and / or appliances.
• Making necessary adjustments to the dental prosthesis / appliances to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit of the dental prostheses / appliances.
• Assists in teaching, guiding and supporting students in specific dental lab work.
• Helps students in their research projects.
• Prepares, sterilizes / disinfects, organizes, monitors, maintains and sets up dental lab equipment, as well as ensures that all dental lab instruments are cleaned and processed according to established clinical guidelines and standards.
• Maintains inventories of dental lab supplies and reports to the dental technician supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with the health and safety standards of the dental lab, including the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Follows and maintains all relevant institutional regulations, guidelines, policies, and standards for the provision of dental lab / clinic services.
• Documents and maintains detailed records of the fabrication process, including the date, the materials used, the type of dental work, the supervisor’s name and student’s ID, or any other details specified by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

Dental diploma from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.
