General Manager, ACER UAE

The Position

ACER is internationally recognised for providing independent expertise and evidence that helps improve learning. To support and augment a vast international customer base, ACER has dedicated offices and operations in five countries, including the UAE. As ACER UAE continues to grow, ACER seek to appoint a new General Manager (GM). This position is based in Dubai and reports to the CEO who is based in Australia.

The GM ACER UAE will lead a high-performing team delivering world-class assessment, and capacity-building programs across the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt.

A key element of the role will be to augment specialised projects and consultancy services to governments across the region and ensure ACER’s high-quality systems are maintained. You will provide schools, operators and governments with world leading standardised assessment tools that provide evidence to inform teaching and learning.

Equipped with a background in education and ideally in assessment, the GM ACER UAE will be an experienced operator in the UAE and will ideally speak Arabic. Well-equipped to bring strategic clarity to large-scale educational initiatives, the appointee will have a record of leading with purpose in a culturally diverse, globally connected environment. They will be the kind of leader who thrives in complexity, maintains unwavering ethical standards and who has a record of driving improvement in processes and systems.

This position is based in Dubai and candidates must have, or be eligible to obtain, working rights in the UAE.
