Major Objectives of the Job :
Requirements & Responsibilities :
Testing Engineer is responsible for smooth running of all Testing of panels and quality of the output panels.
Typical tasks include :
- To have knowledge of IEC-61439 & IEC-60529 standards related to switchgear.
- To produce associated documentation with the testing of the panel with detail.
- To use test equipment such as a dielectric tester, multi-meter, IR tester etc.
- To maintain safe working practices and always adhere to quality control & safety procedures.
- To travel to sites and diagnose then fix issues with panels.
- To have a good customer relationship and confidence to demonstrate testing under the presents of the end customer.
- Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions, both written and verbal (from the supervisor and other team members)
- Carry out testing and inspection on finished Switchgear panels both on the shop floor and at customer premises in line with approved standards and customer requirements.
- Adhere to and always maintain safe working practices.
- Be able to send a panel to site with 100% confidence that it fits within specification and functions as stated.
- Preform and host Factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests in the presents of end customers.
- Adhere to and actively improve (through feedback to the supervisor) quality control processes and test procedures.
- Travel to customer sites to support installation, as and when required.
- To provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills. With the ability to manage changing priorities and work flexibly and proactively to tight timescales.
- Ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communications skills must be able to communicate at all levels.
- Able to work extended and / or unsocial hours to the full requirements of the role.

- Ensuring 100% PPE Compliance when going out to the Shopfloor.
- Honestly state any illnesses or any other minor & major issues during induction.
- Avoid wearing jewellery or loose clothing while inside shopfloor.
- Cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety.
- Familiar with the use of emergency equipment such as Fire Alarm Call Point and Fire Extinguishers.
- Full knowledge in Emergency Assembly Procedure.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may affected by their acts or omissions.
- Knowledge in H&S Policy and Objectives
- Coordinate with production supervisors or Safety Officer for H&S Issues observed to be addressed.
- Do not perform other activities until the responsibilities are assigned by Manager.
