Purpose
To manage all Engineering services to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out in accordance with GANS commitments under UAE Armed Forces contract for all UAE AFAD and JAC airbases and mobile towers
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical works to ensure communication, navigation, surveillance / air traffic management (CNS / ATM) systems are fully maintained in accordance with UAE Armed Forces contract
- Prepare the annual schedule for each base in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications to ensure the preventive maintenance activities of the systems and equipment are planned and delivered in an optimal manner
- Take necessary action(s) and deploy the technicians for corrective maintenance as required to ensure the equipment is preserved and remains fit for purpose
- Work closely with the Procurement department to initiate and follow up with the process to procure new spare parts, tools and test equipment and / or repair of faulty parts
- Maintain an inventory of all CNS / ATM spare parts to ensure optimal availability of spare parts at each base
- Prepare a duty roster for the technicians to ensure each base is adequately manned as per contractual / operational requirements
- Deploy maintenance technician to Mobile Towers and other locations as designated by the customer to ensure upkeep of the equipment
- Liaise with Procurement to seek expert external contractors for flight checks of navigational aids at all airbases and coordinate all engineering activities to ensure they are completed efficiently as per the schedule
- Review and approve the Form 35 for each technician in accordance with the guidelines communicated by the customer
- Collate and analyse data and statistics pertaining to day to day Engineering services and prepare periodic reports as required by GANS senior management and / or the customer
- Lead the objective setting for all direct reports and monitor progress against target
- Safety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization. The Job holder is required to maintain awareness and knowledge in relation to their safety responsibilities associated with their job function
Educational Qualification :
Higher diploma in Electronics required. Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or equivalent preferredProfessional Certifications :
