Accountant

Overview

We are a reputable company in Sharjah looking for a skilled Accountant who is fluent in Malayalam to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank reconciliations and tax filings. The ideal candidate should have excellent numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

This is a contract position with a salary of 1400$ per month. Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the contract.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
• Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable/payable and controlling expenses
• Ensure accuracy of financial transactions by auditing documents and verifying all entries are correct
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review
• Handle tax filings including VAT returns and corporate tax payments
• Monitor cash flow by tracking bank balances and preparing cash flow projections
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as an Accountant or similar role
• Fluency in Malayalam is mandatory
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Previous experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks or SAP is preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
