Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in civil and infrastructure projects to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of our projects by accurately estimating and managing costs, while also maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the civil and infrastructure sector
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in cost estimation and budget management software
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
• Professional certification (e.g. MRICS) is a plus

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil and infrastructure projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Monitor and control project costs throughout all stages of the project
• Prepare and review project budgets and progress reports
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within budget
• Review and negotiate contracts and change orders with clients and subcontractors
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify any potential cost or schedule issues
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulations
• Keep accurate records of all project costs and maintain a database of cost information for future use
• Mentor and train junior quantity surveyors as needed
