Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Head of Estimation – Oil & Gas to lead the Estimation and Proposals function for oil & gas projects. This role is responsible for managing the full estimation lifecycle from enquiry evaluation through proposal submission and contract award while ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with commercial and technical requirements. The role works closely with clients, engineering teams, and senior management to support business growth and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and evaluate enquiries from clients and the Commercial Manager; allocate work to Estimators and Proposals Engineers.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain complete technical and commercial information for accurate cost estimation.
• Review and approve estimates and proposals prepared by the team in line with approved Levels of Authority (LOA).
• Ensure proposals are competitive, accurate, and aligned with oil & gas industry standards and client requirements.
• Upon contract award, review purchase orders and contracts to verify scope, commercial terms, and conditions against approved proposals.
• Support job release processes and ensure smooth commercial handover to project and planning teams.
• Assign team members to follow awarded projects and ensure all variation orders are identified, evaluated, and submitted on time.
• Review variation orders and proforma invoices to ensure accurate revenue capture and compliance prior to client submission.
• Monitor commercial and financial performance of projects throughout execution.
• Prepare and review monthly invoices, KPI reports, and commercial data for submission to Finance and senior management.
• Ensure all estimation and commercial records are maintained in compliance with QMS and company procedures.
• Prepare monthly sales and estimation performance reports for review by the Commercial Manager and General Manager.
• Provide technical and commercial input during bid strategy discussions and business development initiatives.
