Senior Structural Engineer

One of our many projects, Azizi Venice, where Azizi is the Master Developer, has an approximate value of AED 30 billion and is a mixed‑use development located in Dubai South. The crown jewel located at the heart of the development will be Azizi Opera, a state‑of‑the‑art opera house. Azizi Venice is planned to welcome over 30,000 visitors daily and Azizi Opera will become one of the most notable venues for high‑caliber events in the emirate.

Manage assigned projects by providing direct supervision, mentoring and overall leadership to the structural design team, including engineers and draftsmen. Perform structural analysis and design based on loads calculated and determined according to the applicable codes and standards and meeting all local authority requirements. Produce project calculations and drawings in coordination with the drafting staff.

Job Responsibilities

Manages structural design teams comprising engineers and draftsmen by providing direct supervision, mentoring and overall leadership to the structural design team.

Carry out full structural design, including stability analysis and design of foundations and conventional R.C. slabs as per the applicable local and international code requirements and obtain the local authorities and municipality approvals.

Prepare design models of the structures using computer software and / or manually calculate the forces, stresses and strains for each component such as beams, columns, walls and foundations due to human use, mechanical use or environmental pressures such as weather (temperature seasonal change), wind effect and earthquakes.

Liaise with other designers, including architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, to agree on safe designs that fit with the aesthetic concept of the project.

Implement the in‑house Quality Assurance (QA / QC) program to ensure design and documents produced by the structural team meet the specified quality standards.

Provide engineering instructions, review and monitor structural work done by sub‑consultants or specialty engineers to ensure they are according to the project specifications and requirements.

Provide structural engineering support and assistance to the project site team and contractor to resolve any construction related issues that may arise during construction and to ensure successful completion of the project.

Conduct review and check of designs to ensure the design drawings and documents are of the expected quality and meet the quality assurance requirements of Azizi Developments.

Educational Qualification

Minimum Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.

Computer and Software Proficiency

Proficient in the use of computers including knowledge of design analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, ProKon, RAM, Concept, ADAPT. Knowledge of AutoCAD will be a plus.
