Accountant Duties & Responsibilities in the UAE
Financial Records & Reporting
Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with UAE accounting standards (IFRS).
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
VAT & Compliance
Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
Ensure compliance with corporate tax, excise, and other UAE laws.
Maintain proper documentation for audits and tax inspections.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor expenses vs. budgets and provide variance analysis.
Support management with financial planning and cost control.
Payroll & Employee Benefits
Process monthly payroll in compliance with UAE labour laws and WPS requirements.
Calculate end-of-service benefits (gratuity) as per UAE Labour Law.
Handle staff reimbursements and allowances.
Banking & Cash Flow Management
Prepare and monitor cash flow statements.
Manage bank reconciliations and liaise with banks for facilities or transactions.
Oversee petty cash management and fund allocations.
Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders for financial matters.
