Role Summary
The Plastic Surgeon is responsible for diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients requiring reconstructive, cosmetic, or corrective surgical procedures. The role involves performing advanced surgical techniques to restore function and improve appearance, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, ethics, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and consultations to determine suitable surgical or non-surgical treatment options.
- Perform a wide range of plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures, including but not limited to :
- Cosmetic surgeries (e.g., facelifts, rhinoplasty, liposuction, breast augmentation / reduction).
- Reconstructive surgeries (e.g., post-trauma, post-burn, congenital defect corrections, hand surgeries).
- Skin and soft tissue procedures (e.g., tumor excisions, grafts, flaps).
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient monitoring, wound care, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (dermatology, oncology, orthopedics, ENT, etc.) to deliver integrated patient care.
- Ensure patient education and informed consent about surgical risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and compliance with hospital policies and local regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing medical education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and train junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
