Technical Draftsman

Location Dubai Reporting to Head of Engineering Job summary The is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed shop drawings and asbuilt drawings for firefighting and fire alarm systems in accordance with project specifications local authority regulations and relevant codes and standards Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed shop drawings schematic diagrams and asbuilt drawings for firefighting and fire alarm systems using AutoCAD or similar software Coordinate with the line manager head of engineering sales engineers and sales managers to ensure drawings meet technical and operational requirements Interpret drawings architectural and structural drawings to ensure proper integration of fire systems Prepare detailed layout plans including pipe routing sprinkler head locations fire alarm device placement control panels and equipment Ensure drawings comply with local authorities regulations NFPA and other international fire safety codes Modify and update drawings based on site changes client comments and authority approvals Support the submission process to the authorities or consultants for drawing approval Maintain drawing logs and revision histories Coordinate with other disciplines HVAC Electrical Plumbing for clash detection and resolution Qualifications and skills Diploma or Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering or a related field Proven experience typically 2 5 years as a Draftsman in fire protection and fire alarm systems Proficient in AutoCAD 2D Revit optional and other drafting software Good understanding of firefighting systems sprinklers pumps piping valves and fire alarm systems smoke detectors panels manual call points Familiar with NFPA UAE Civil Defense or other relevant local authority codes Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
