Head of Blockchain / Protocol Lead

Salary : $200,000 USD + Benefits

TechNET has partnered with a leading blockchain foundation to appoint a visionary Head of Blockchain / Protocol Lead. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of blockchain infrastructure, leading protocol research and engineering delivery at global scale.

About the Role

As Head of Blockchain / Protocol Lead, you will own the strategic direction and technical roadmap of a next-generation blockchain protocol. You will act as the bridge between research, product, and ecosystem needs, driving innovation across zk-based infrastructure, rollups, and core protocol design.

You will lead a high-performing protocol team, collaborate with business stakeholders, and represent the foundation across the global Web3 community.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the core blockchain protocol
Lead protocol R&D across cryptography, zk-proofs, and Layer 2 scaling (zkRollups / Optimistic Rollups)
Build and scale a world-class engineering and research team
Translate business and ecosystem requirements into technical execution
Represent the foundation at conferences, research forums, and industry events
Publish thought leadership in areas of blockchain scalability, cryptography, and token economics

What We’re Looking For

Proven leadership in protocol development or blockchain R&D labs

Strong background in cryptography, distributed systems, and zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs, zk-STARKs, zkVMs)

Hands-on experience with Layer 2 scaling solutions and zk infrastructure

Ability to align business vision with technical execution

Skilled in cross-functional collaboration across product, business, and ecosystem teams

Visible thought leader : publications, open-source contributions, or conference speaking

Familiarity with protocol incentive design, token engineering, and network economics is a plus

Based in Abu Dhabi, or open to relocation
