OFFSHORE STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Designer to support FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design for offshore oil & gas projects in the UAE. The role focuses on offshore drilling rigs and rig refurbishment projects. Extensive offshore experience is mandatory, with proven exposure to offshore structures and drilling rigs. Experience working on Saudi Aramco offshore projects is highly preferred and will be a key advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare structural design deliverables including general arrangement drawings, structural layouts, framing plans, details, and fabrication drawings
• Support FEED and Detailed Engineering activities in compliance with project specifications, offshore standards, and design criteria
• Develop and review structural calculations, design reports, and material take-offs for offshore structures
• Prepare and review structural specifications and data sheets for offshore steel structures and secondary steel
• Ensure compliance with international offshore structural codes and standards such as API, AISC, ISO, DNV, and project-specific requirements
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and layout) to ensure integrated and clash-free designs
• Support offshore drilling rig refurbishment and brownfield modification projects, including strengthening and structural upgrades
• Participate in model reviews, design reviews, HAZID/HAZOPs, and client meetings
• Support vendor and fabricator document reviews and respond to technical queries
• Provide structural design support during fabrication, offshore installation, construction, commissioning, and as-built documentation

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of offshore structural design experience, including offshore drilling rigs and refurbishment projects
• Saudi Aramco offshore project experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design execution
• Experience with offshore steel structures, primary and secondary steel, and structural strengthening
• Proficiency in structural design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Tekla, STAAD, SACS, or equivalent
• Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and vendor/fabricator interfaces
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an offshore engineering environment
