Job Summary

Application Support Engineer, for the Delivery Team and Application Maintenance, will work to support users for all the applications incident, requests, and changes that provide business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support application users by receiving application issues and requests, investigating and resolving issues, and providing users with consistent updates on progress.
  • Analyze software application functionality and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
  • Provide software application support under the supervision of the Senior Engineer.
  • Complete all assigned tasks with quality within the defined timeframes.
  • Conduct unit testing and integration testing, and execute bug fixes as necessary.
  • Consult with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.
  • Manage code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality.
  • Identify root causes of application errors, analyze defects, follow up with vendors for corrective actions, and escalate serious issues to the Senior Engineer.
  • Maintain records of configuration changes and schedule application updates.
  • Document processes and monitor application performance metrics.
  • Provide front-end support to clients and colleagues in other departments.
  • Assign and review user access requests.
  • Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize user assistance requests.
  • Keep updated notes on ticket progress within the system, and create or update related problem documentation.
  • Gather information about problems and guide users through diagnostic procedures to determine the source of errors.
  • Write and revise user instruction materials relevant to the supported user base, along with backend process documentation and instructions.
  • Develop and report application support analysis reports, including ticket details and corrective actions.

Work Experience

4+ years of proven IT experience performing hands-on software development roles.

Preferred

8+ years of relevant work experience. Agile-driven development.
