Our client , a global commodity trading house with strong footprints in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East , is expanding its energy trading division and is looking for an experienced and dynamic Natural Gas Trader to join its growing team in Dubai .

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the region’s energy hub, with access to global LNG, pipeline gas, and derivatives markets.

Your Role

As a Natural Gas Trader , you will be responsible for identifying, structuring, and executing profitable trades across the physical and paper natural gas markets, including pipeline gas, LNG, and gas-related derivatives. You will collaborate closely with origination, operations, risk, and analytics teams to capitalize on both short-term and strategic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Market Trading & Strategy

Trade physical and financial natural gas (including LNG swaps, pipeline contracts, spreads, and basis markets).

Develop and execute short- and long-term trading strategies across EMEA, Asia, and the US.

Monitor gas supply-demand fundamentals, regional spreads, storage and transportation economics, and geopolitical impacts.

Deal Origination & Execution

Originate and manage gas deals with utilities, producers, traders, and large-scale consumers.

Work with origination and structuring teams to identify term opportunities, tolling, and optionality plays.

Negotiate and structure physical and derivative contracts aligned with company risk parameters.

Risk & Position Management

Manage market exposure using hedging strategies (futures, options, swaps).

Work closely with middle office and risk teams to manage VaR, credit, and operational risks.

Maintain trading books, monitor P&L, and report on trading performance and exposure.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Liaise with logistics, shipping, legal, and finance teams to ensure efficient and compliant execution.

Contribute to internal market intelligence and support the growth of the natural gas portfolio.

What You Bring

5+ years of experience trading natural gas (physical or paper), ideally in a trading house, energy company, or investment bank.

Solid understanding of regional and global gas markets , LNG flows, and infrastructure dynamics.

Proven P&L track record and the ability to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities.

Familiarity with risk management tools , pricing mechanisms, and exchange platforms (ICE, CME, EEX).

Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and analytical skills.

Exposure to MENA, European, or Asian gas markets is highly desirable.

Driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work under pressure and make fast, informed decisions.
