Site Manager (Heavy Ion Therapy Systems)

Overview

The Site Manager will oversee all aspects of site preparation and readiness, including support installation, and assist with the logistics of shipments and rigging, ensuring efficient and on time execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Site Readiness & Preparation : Ensure the customer’s physical site (hospital or clinic) meets all infrastructure requirements, including civil works, electrical supply, HVAC, radiation shielding, safety, ventilation, clean room, etc.
• Coordinate site inspections and feasibility surveys; perform onsite inspections to validate that construction / facilities are prepared according to Toshiba’s Site Preparation Guide.
• Coordination with External Parties : Work with hospital staff, architects, engineers, contractors, rigging and construction companies, and local suppliers to ensure building, utilities, and room design match specifications.
• Liaise with local regulatory authorities (for safety, radiation protection, health codes) as needed and ensure compliance with standards.
• Project Planning & Scheduling : Develop and maintain project schedules for the site readiness phase (Civil Works, Installation, logistics, commissioning). Coordinate timelines with internal departments to align delivery and handover.
• Customer / Stakeholder Interface : Be the main point of contact for the customer for all site-related matters, clarify requirements, communicate delays / issues, and manage expectations. Ensure a smooth handover from construction to installation teams and high customer satisfaction through installation & commissioning.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance : Ensure installations comply with TESG’s quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Use site preparation guides and checklists. Inspect and verify that all components, delivered systems, and site conditions are proper before equipment delivery / installation.
• Problem Anticipation, Risk & Issue Management : Identify risks early and propose mitigations. Resolve on-site challenges in coordination with stakeholders.
• Budgeting / Financial Oversight : Monitor costs related to site preparation (civil works, extra materials, subcontractors). Document variations within approved limits and support financial forecasting related to project delivery and site readiness.
• Handover And Commissioning Support : Support installation teams through commissioning, performance checks, and acceptance tests. Provide customer training or orientation for site maintenance or safety where relevant.
• Documentation & Reporting : Maintain site-specific drawings, reports, readiness checklists, and document status of installations, deviations, and signoffs. Regularly report progress, delays, and cost overruns to Project Manager / senior management.
• Other Activities : Support project logistics, warehouse activities, rigging; obtain documents and signatures as required; travel for meetings and workshops; obtain quotes for material and resources as required.
