Eaton is seeking an Life Safety Industrialization Engineer Manager to coordinate all the new product introductions activities and work with local teams within the 7 Life Safety plants in EMEA to follow-up on the projects on site. This person will ensure new products or processes are efficiently and cost-effectively introduced into production
- Define and supervise the implementation of manufacturing standards (manufacturing processes, equipment, organization, Industry 4.0, IT tools, etc.) in EATON.
- Secure, with the plant teams, the production start of NPI projects, and their compliance with standardized manufacturing processes, to achieve Business objectives, using EATON tools such as : TCO, PROLaunch, ELSS, EQS and MMA.
- Define, in close collaboration with the Program Manager, the industrial orientation of the Life Safety Division (LSD) NPIs : Manufacturing footprint aligned with NPI projects specificities, optimization of TCO (Total Cost Of Ownership) and environmental impact.
- Work closely with R&D centers and NPI teams to ensure new products are manufacturable without compromise on design or quality, using DFX tools (PFMEA, VSM, etc.).
- Converge, with the BU's R&D centers, towards applying product design rules with Design for Manufacturing and Automation (Design for manufacturability, automation & Testability), and defining Product Manufacturing Test strategy.
- Federate plants teams around standard production solution allowing LSD industrial sites to enhance flexibility, robustness and resiliency across sites, especialy for electronic test solutions.
- Support the project and logistics teams, and guarantee, with the receiving and sending factory teams, the success of PCBA and finished production transfers, using the EATON Pro-Launch STP process.
- Work with strategic equipment suppliers to ensure that EATON plants use the latest technologies aligned with LSD needs, achieving the best global efficiency standards. Anticipate and Confirm the technical feasibility of new production processes to project teams. Influence supplier technology roadmap to match EATON-LSD expectations.
- Oversee automation projects across the BU for NPIs and CI project, to ensure that solutions are based on a selection of factors such as : Flexible and scalable solution, production capacity, ease of integration, compliant with EATON I4.0 requirements (connectivity, cybersecurity, Real time data sharing, DWI,..) and ROI (Return On Investment).
- Leverages Eaton Business System tools.
- Oversees Manufacturing and Test engineering competencies in the division.
- Engineering Bachelor's Degree, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering a plus.
- Master in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or Engineering Technology a plus.
- 15-20 years' experience in manufacturing engineering (ideally electrical / automotive), Production or R&D functions.
Knowledge in electronic manufacturing processes and testing (test solution and test coverage).
Industry 4.0 solutions and applications.Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability.Experienced in engineering design and product reliability concepts.Frequent user of Lean manufacturing tools and solutions.Fully demonstrating to proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools.Proven Leadership skills - capability to lead change in an Integrated Team.Management of NPI Manufacturing engineering team located on several plants (project coaching, development plan, yearly evaluation).Federate, convince and support technical teams.Can effectively and comfortably speak to all levels of the organization.Being part of a company that has been in business for more than 100 years, is well known in the industry, and has a major impact on the energy industryAnnual mentoring program, Eaton University, a reward, and recognition systemOngoing Learning and Career Development Opportunities in a global company.
