Job Purpose

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Design Manager / Design Manager (depending on experience) with a robust architectural background to lead the design and delivery of educational projects. This role requires a passion for design excellence, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.

As a Senior Design Manager / Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-quality, functional, and sustainable learning environments. You will be expected to challenge your design thinking to push for optimal outcomes while ensuring technical accuracy and architectural integrity. A deep understanding of architectural detailing and technical delivery and understanding of local codes / compliances is essential. We are looking for a team player who thrives in fast-paced environments and consistently delivers high-quality work within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design phase as the client’s primary representative, collaborating with internal and external teams.
• Coordinate with local and international consultants during design development.
• Work with design, commercial, and project management teams to implement client-driven changes.
• Ensure smooth coordination between design teams, consultants, and stakeholders, including operators and facility managers.
• Support site teams in resolving design-related issues and clashes promptly.
• Lead technical workshops, guiding consultants in review and approval of shop drawings while preserving design intent.
• Oversee mock-up reviews to ensure design quality and alignment.
• Conduct site and factory inspections to ensure design and quality standards are met.
• Drive design development through all stages : Concept, Schematic, Design Development, and Documentation.
• Integrate educational operational requirements into the design with internal and external collaboration.
• Manage design change control to minimize schedule disruptions and cost impacts.
• Resolve unforeseen coordination and interface issues across all design phases.
