Senior Structural Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit structural designs for necessary permits approval with the relevant government authorities.
• Lead the conceptualization, design, and analysis of concrete and steel structures, ensuring alignment with client specifications and project requirements.
• Ensure that all structural designs adhere to local and international building codes, standards, and regulations. Stay updated on relevant code changes to maintain compliance.
• Supervise and mentor a team of structural engineers, offering guidance and ensuring team members meet deadlines and maintain design quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs into the overall project framework. Ensure seamless communication across departments.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques and methodologies to solve complex structural design challenges. Utilize structural design software like TEKLA, STAAD, ETABS, and SAFE for structural calculations and design optimization.
• Implement quality control processes to ensure accuracy and integrity in design calculations, drawings, and specifications. Review and critique design outputs to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to meet timelines and deliverables. Ensure timely communication of design modifications to all relevant parties.
• Identify potential risks in design, construction methods, and materials selection. Propose and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends in structural engineering. Integrate innovative design methodologies to continuously improve project outcomes.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide technical expertise and solutions. Ensure client satisfaction through effective problem-solving.
