Sheet Metal Certifying Technician

Perform, oversee, and certify structural maintenance on Airline and Third-Party aircraft undergoing line or base maintenance. This includes repairs / modifications, installation / replacements, inspections, and defect rectifications, while overseeing the work of assigned technicians, ensuring airworthiness & compliance with approved standards, regulatory requirements, and the airline s maintenance procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities

• Prepare for, perform, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with task cards, approved data, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the work of assigned technicians, ensuring tasks are performed to the required standards, resolving technical issues, and providing on-the-job guidance where needed.
• Review assigned task cards with the Engineer / Supervisor to confirm full understanding of work scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions prior to task commencement.
• Conduct thorough inspections and defect rectification, ensuring defects are properly addressed using approved maintenance data.
• Record maintenance actions, test results, defect rectification, and parts usage accurately in the Maintenance Information system, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Ensure the availability, compatibility, and readiness shop inventory in line with approved standards and operational needs.
• Maintain clear, effective communication with engineers, technicians, and operational teams to ensure task continuity, safe handovers, and seamless coordination.
• Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and human factors principles before, during, and after task execution to safeguard personnel and equipment.
• Uphold high housekeeping standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all time
• Control resource usage, minimizing waste of consumables, preventing repeat work, and optimizing material and repair costs
• Provide professional, proactive, and solution-oriented support to operational teams across the airline & third-party customers.
