Sheet Metal Certifying Technician

Perform, oversee, and certify structural maintenance on airline and third-party aircraft undergoing line or base maintenance. This includes repairs, modifications, installations, replacements, inspections, and defect rectifications, while overseeing the work of assigned technicians to ensure airworthiness and compliance with approved standards, regulatory requirements, and airline maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare for, perform, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with task cards, approved data, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the work of technicians, ensuring tasks meet standards, resolving technical issues, and providing on-the-job guidance.
- Review task cards with engineers or supervisors to confirm understanding of work scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions before starting work.
- Conduct inspections and defect rectifications, ensuring proper addressing of defects using approved maintenance data.
- Accurately record maintenance actions, test results, defect rectifications, and parts usage in the maintenance information system to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Ensure shop inventory is available, compatible, and ready, in line with standards and operational needs.
- Maintain effective communication with engineers, technicians, and operational teams for task continuity and safety.
- Enforce safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and human factors principles before, during, and after tasks to safeguard personnel and equipment.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Control resource usage, minimize waste, prevent rework, and optimize costs.
- Provide professional, proactive support to operational teams across the airline and third-party customers.
Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages) :
Diploma or certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structural / Airframe) or equivalent.Skills in fabrication, inspections, and task documentation.Strong knowledge of aircraft airframe systems, repair techniques, maintenance practices, and regulations.Attention to detail, compliance, and safety focus.Effective communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.Ability to manage time and resources efficiently.Physical fitness to work in various conditions.Ability to work in rostered shifts as required.Proficiency in computer systems related to maintenance documentation.Awareness of human factors in maintenance activities.Work Experience :
Minimum 4 years of experience in aircraft structure maintenance, preferably Airbus.Possession of company-issued certifying authorization for aircraft structure or completion of related training with demonstrated proficiency.#J-18808-Ljbffr
