Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned projects onshore or offshore, ensuring that all company and relevant customer’s policies, processes and procedures are in place and implemented in all aspects of the business.
• Manage a team of supervisors, engineers, technicians and administration staff to ensure that the team performs as per the company’s and customer’s requirements.
• Oversee the planning and organization of appropriate allocation of resources.
• Establish and maintain all required accreditations for the Company in accordance with current legislation / in-country statutory requirements, requirements of international code of practices (latest editions) and industry standards and good working practices.
• Prepare and submit any required project documentations templates ensuring that the company processes and procedures are complied.
• Liaise with clients and develop business relations as and where appropriate.
• Performs site surveys and attend meetings with customers, project team and vendors as required for the project management.
• Derive work breakdown structure and MTO’s based on surveys performed. Provide preliminary value estimates for the resource and materials required for the project.
• Manage project quality assurance and control ensuring that the projects in progress are in compliance with the designs and specifications derived.
• Ensure Health and Safety, statutory, mandatory and environmental engineering standards and targets are met and maintained within defined company procedures and legislative requirements.
• Ensure safety is observed at work e.g. Proper PPE, permits to work, electrical lock-out / tag-out, barricades and isolations
• Plan daily, weekly and periodic projects and activities directing workload as necessary to maximize effective utilization of project team, whilst ensuring project controls are in place and the project is delivered within timescales and budgets agreed with management.
• Make the necessary arrangements and preparations prior to start of project (i.e. Resource and Material Preparations, Customer coordination, Hot works, Isolations, Permits, Documentations, Risk Assessments, etc).
• Provide technical assistance to the subordinates as required.
• Provide plan of activities and advise solutions to problems encountered.
• Ensure that all relevant customer and Relay documentations are prepared, recorded and saved in the appropriate folders.
• Manage the team and ensuring that all employees are trained and capable to execute the company services and capabilities related to this discipline, not limited to the following : Circuit Breaker Injection testing and maintenance, Fibre Optic Cable Testing, Splicing and repairs, Generator Load testing, Thermographic Surveys, Light and Noise Surveys, Proper Equipment and Cable Installation, Helideck Lighting Installation, CCTV System Installation and Testing, Mobile Booster Systems Installations and testing, etc..
• All training records and skills matrix are to be updated and recorded in respective folders.
• Manage the usage of operational equipment ensuring that any repairs, servicing and / or calibration is carried out in a timely manner and any new equipment is purchased correctly in accordance with company procedures.
• Prepare and complete the necessary Relay and customer documentations as required for the job such as, but not limited to, request for inspections, test reports, timesheets, cost summaries, project tracking sheet, completion forms and supporting documentations.
• Ensure that all relevant documentations are prepared, recorded and saved in the right project folders for each project.
• Provide regular reports to the direct manager for all the job updates and schedule of the project.
• Responsibilities may vary from working onshore to working offshore, or out of country and for long hours.
• The Company reserves the right to vary those duties and may require you to perform any additional reasonable tasks as and when instructed / required to do so at its sole discretion, with due regard to your individual capability, training and health and safety considerations.
