Head of Department English

Job Description :

• To lead, manage, and develop the provision of the subject teaching and learning within the school and to ensure appropriate monitoring, analysis, and evaluation.
• To lead the department's strategic and operational development.
• To raise standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the whole curriculum area and to monitor and support pupil progress.
• To be accountable for pupil progress and development within the subject area and to develop and enhance the teaching practices of teachers.
• To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for pupils.
• Providing opportunities for enrichment for gifted & talented students and students with special needs.
• Experience in strategic planning and actively contribute towards SEF SIP.
• Experience teaching English in a UK curriculum school.
• Conducting professional development training.
• Ensuring continued innovation in the teaching of English.
• To manage and deploy teaching / support staff and physical resources within the department effectively to support the department development plan.
