We have been mandated by a Global Investment Fund to find an SVP Ethics and Compliance Counsel. Reporting into the Head of Compliance and Ethics and directly managing a team of 7 this role has the ability to shape and deliver on all the strategic and critical issues.

Role : Ethics & Compliance – Strategy & Leadership

The role is responsible for shaping and driving the Ethics and Compliance function, ensuring the highest standards of corporate governance, risk management, and ethical integrity across the organization and its assets.

The position supports the Head of Ethics & Compliance in drafting annual business plans, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely corrective action where required. It plays a key role in budget planning and aligning resources with strategic and financial objectives.

Leadership & Workforce Development

The role oversees the performance and development of direct and indirect reports, ensuring recruitment, training, and succession planning build a skilled, motivated, and future-ready team. It actively drives employee engagement and leadership development to ensure organizational sustainability.

Ethics & Compliance Frameworks

The position provides expert advice on the companies Code of Conduct and ethics frameworks, leading initiatives to strengthen compliance culture and investigating breaches where necessary to safeguard reputation. It continuously monitors global best practices, integrating innovative, technology-driven approaches to maintain a forward-looking compliance strategy.

The role leads risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and working with Enterprise Risk Management to design effective prevention and mitigation measures. It ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while driving continuous process improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building

A critical aspect of the role is building strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and government entities. It also delivers training and awareness programs to strengthen compliance capabilities across all areas.

Reporting & Change Management

The role ensures accurate, timely reporting to support executive decision-making and leads change initiatives aligned with international best practices, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of ethics and compliance excellence.

Requirements

• Qualified Lawyer in relevant jurisdiction - ie Australia, UK or USA
• 10 + years in a similar compliance role in a major institution / investment manager
• Operational and Strategic leadership
• Demonstrable success in transformation of compliance functions
