We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Events to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of high-profile government events, conferences, and public engagements in Abu Dhabi.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned event leader with a strong background in large-scale event management , government protocol , and stakeholder coordination at a senior level.
Overview
The role leads the strategy, planning, and execution of official events, ceremonies, and conferences in alignment with Abu Dhabi vision and government standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy aligned with the entity’s objectives and Abu Dhabi’s vision.
- Oversee the conceptualization, planning, budgeting, and delivery of all official events, ceremonies, and conferences.
- End-to-End Event Management : Lead the design, production, and execution of high-profile local and international events, ensuring exceptional quality and adherence to government standards.
- Manage logistics, vendor contracts, permits, and compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
- Protocol & Stakeholder Management : Ensure all events strictly follow government protocol and VIP requirements; collaborate with senior leadership, external agencies, and government stakeholders to guarantee seamless execution.
- Team & Budget Oversight : Lead a multidisciplinary events team, providing guidance and performance management; manage and monitor the events budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Introduce innovative event concepts, technologies, and sustainability practices to enhance attendee experience and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate event performance and implement improvements based on post-event analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Hospitality, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).12+ years of progressive experience in large-scale event management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role .Proven experience managing government or high-profile VIP events in the UAE or GCC.Strong knowledge of UAE government protocol, cultural considerations, and regulatory requirements.Excellent bilingual communication skills ( Arabic and English strongly preferred ).Demonstrated ability to manage multimillion-dirham budgets and large vendor networks.Strategic planning and execution; VIP protocol and stakeholder engagement; leadership and team management; strong negotiation and vendor management skills; high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Seniority level
