The main purpose of the position is to establish and lead dynamic internal audit function at SODs under the direction of SODs audit committee for the objective of providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve SODs operations. The incumbent is also responsible for establishing risk based internal audit plan and establishing appropriate audit policies and procedures to guide the internal audit function and ensure the quality of the independent assurance services are delivered.

Strategic :
- Establish and lead dynamic internal audit function at SODs for the objective of providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve SODs operations.
- Develop and implement the Internal Audit function’s objectives, work plan, policies and procedures and key performance indicators.
- Develop the Strategic Audit Plan for the Internal Audit function.
- Deliver a relevant and clear opinion on Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Internal Controls across the SODs Group.
- Establish Audit Universe covering all SODs and related entities.
- Lead the development of the risk based annual Internal Audit Plan covering the SODs audit universe to address the key risk areas effectively
- Recommend an optimum organization structure of the Internal Audit function to ensure that resources are optimally utilized.
- Regularly engage with senior leaders in the SODs to understand their needs and gain their perspective.
- Influence and communicate effectively, demonstrating strategic thinking.
- Ensure that the required tools are available for the Internal Audit function to achieve its objectives.
Operational :
Monitor the overall execution of the Approved Audit Plan.Hire, lead and mentor the audit team, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and conformity to IA standards and code of ethics.Collaborates with the Finance Department for budget related issues and to ensure transparency in all financial matters.Reviews / approves findings and recommendations on issues identified to departmental management to increase efficiency and / or effectiveness of the control systems of the functions reviewed.Ensure quality and timeliness of audit planning, fieldwork, data analysis, reporting, conducting performance appraisals after audits.Communicate the Internal Audit results to the Management and the Audit Committee in line with the agreed communication protocols.Direct the follow-up activities to appraise the adequacy of actions taken by the management to resolve reported audit observations and provide regular insights to the management and the Audit Committee.Lead all special, consultancy and ad-hoc assignments requested by the Audit Committee Perform any other duties as determined by Audit CommitteeEducational Qualifications :
A master´s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a comparable business-oriented degree
Professional Qualifications :
CPA or ACCA and CIA from a recognized professional institutionProfessional membership in IIA associationYears of Experience :
Minimum of 15 years of experience in internal auditing or related (external audit or internal controls).Outstanding achievements in the Audit industry and other related fields (with recommendations).Other requirements :
Must be fluent written and spoken Arabic and English.Must have substantial experience in leading internal audit functions within large groups of entities.Most have a minimum of 4-5 years big four experience.UAE experience is mandatory.Ability to work in complex environment.Must have a strong Knowledge with the Institute of Internal Auditors standards and necessary processes to ensure compliance.Must be able to create, lead courageously and inspire high performance teams.A self-starter who is organized, intuitive and a collaborative problem-solver with the ability to be effective in a complex, global environment.Must have the highest professional and personal standards, unquestioned integrity and business ethics Commitment to teamwork and results.Always maintain a positive attitude while carrying out his / her duties and responsibilities.Considerable skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems.#J-18808-Ljbffr
