Senior Resident Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Supervision / Project Director, the Senior Resident Engineer will lead AECOM’s Construction Supervision scope of services and act as the client’s main point of contact, advising on all engineering and contractual matters related to the project as per the contracted scope of work.

Job Duties

• Lead the delivery (time, cost, quality) of the assigned package.
• Supervise contractors to ensure works are constructed as per specifications and to established milestone dates.
• Manage and direct the supervision team to undertake day-to-day inspections of the works.
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness and ensure contractor compliance with obligations.
• Administer FIDIC-based contracts.
• Resolve site issues.
• Present progress and package issues to the client team.
• Discuss scope of work changes with the client and key subcontractors.
• Follow up on instructions and commitments related to the project.
• Establish Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan, and other relevant documents.
• Set program requirements for all project areas and monitor site staff performance.
• Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project and site team.
• Assign responsibilities to key subordinates in their respective fields of expertise.
• Provide input for performance reviews and develop plans for subordinates.
• Collaborate with managers, project engineers, and discipline heads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans.
• Monitor and report project progress, milestones, and conditions affecting cost, schedule, or performance.
• Establish internal weekly meetings to review project status and formulate actions.
• Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.
• Represent the company in client meetings.
• Monitor health and safety at construction sites and address violations.
