Manager – Mobilization & Projects , a regional role within DC Engineering & Asset Management, reporting to the Senior Manager, DC Engineering. This position leads the technical execution and mobilization of engineering projects across operational critical infrastructure sites and data center facilities. The role supports and reviews the technical requirements for site operations, oversees site mobilization, engineering projects—including expansions and upgrades—and ensures alignment with data center performance, reliability, and efficiency standards. It ensures a seamless transition from project planning to operational readiness, in compliance with SFG20, OSHAD, and country-specific regulatory frameworks.
The role is responsible for the timely and effective resolution of incidents and technical issues, providing technical expertise, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery, with a strong focus on building automation and controls. The Manager will focus on maintaining high system availability, optimizing support processes, and delivering exceptional support to site operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee and manage Data Center infrastructure upgrade projects, including planning, budgeting, vendor selection and execution for data center operations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify challenges for new builds, expansions and retrofits.
- Ensure full compliance of data center operations with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols, including ISO, Uptime Institute, and local regulations.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, SOPs and best practices to ensure operational consistency across the data center portfolio.
- Review and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance programs to improve system reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Identify and address single points of failure (SPOFs), implementing redundancy measures for critical infrastructure components.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies and industry innovations to enhance data center engineering best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with facility management and engineering teams to assess ELV & controls system requirements and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and monitor ELV assets performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system specifications, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to facility staff on ELV & controls systems operations and best practices.
- Carry out timely repairs and corrective maintenance on equipment to avoid risk and ensure management of overall site capacity.
- Oversee contractor work and FM operations to ensure completion to Khazna's standards, KPIs and SLAs.
- Ensure FM teams work safely and with high regard to human error avoidance.
- Facilitate testing, project management, and resolution of incidents.
- Manage customer requirements such as inquiries, deployment, expansion, tours, etc., and prioritize emergencies to provide long-term resolutions.
- Resolve concerns, incidents and issues raised by customers, monitor investigations and recommend corrective actions to ensure service continuity.
- Coordinate and liaise with project teams and execute mobilization plans for new sites, including level 4 & ISAT testing, handover documentation review, asset collection and onboarding, and compliance documentation.
- Review maintenance libraries and workflows based on asset type (e.g., generators, lifts, fire systems).
- Coordinate and liaise with project teams & OEM partners, and train site operations teams on SOP, MOP & EOP, and audit readiness.
- Ensure CAFM and SharePoint systems are updated with mobilization data.
- Maintain up-to-date incident reports and resolution playbooks for accessibility.
- Incident and Problem Management, especially for ELV & Controls systems.
- Oversee the resolution of escalated technical issues, ensuring adherence to SLAs and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions for ELV & Controls systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address recurring issues and improve system reliability.
- Provide regular updates to the manager on operational performance and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all support activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to technical support operations and data centre infrastructure.
- Support the Manager DC Eng & Asset Management in executing strategic initiatives and achieving departmental goals.
- Apply SFG20 and UAE standards to all technical outputs.
- Conduct gap analysis and implement corrective actions for compliance deviations.
- Participate in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
- Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet ABC and department requirements, policies, and quality standards.
- Comply with safety, quality, and environmental management policies and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (specialized in electrical, mechanical or electronics & communications).7+ years of experience in project management or project delivery specifically ELV & Controls systems in critical environments.Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, energy management, and relevant codes / standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA).Proficiency in ELV & Controls Network & Logics design software and building management systems (BMS).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical)
