Role Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant in Critical Care Medicine with expertise in liver and / or kidney transplantation . The role involves leading ICU care for transplant patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ICU team in managing critically ill transplant patients , including pre-, intra-, and post-operative care
- Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, and anesthetists to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform advanced procedures such as invasive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy , and hemodynamic support
- Ensure compliance with international best practices and DHA regulations
- Participate in clinical research , quality improvement initiatives , and training programs for junior staff
- Provide on-call support and consultations across critical care areas including ER and transplant units
Qualifications & Requirements
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Critical Care or Internal MedicineFellowship or subspecialty training in Transplant ICU / Critical Care MedicineBoard-certified (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent)Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience in transplant-related ICU careValid license or eligibility for DHA Consultant classificationStrong leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsProficiency in English; Arabic is a plusPreferred Attributes
