Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer who will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of equipment, spares, and services within the Marine industry. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and timely delivery to support marine operations, ship maintenance, and engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for marine-specific products and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with marine industry standards.
Contract & Vendor Management
Manage tendering processes, contract negotiations, and vendor performance evaluations.Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and ensure adherence to contract terms.Monitor vendor progress and resolve procurement issues proactively.Inventory & Logistics Coordination
Oversee inventory management systems for marine equipment and spares.Coordinate with ship crew and technical teams to ensure timely delivery and stock availability.Conduct periodic physical inventories and recommend improvements to onboard inventory systems.Compliance & Reporting
Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.Prepare procurement plans aligned with vessel schedules and operational needs.Generate reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and cost analysis.Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, or Business Administration.Certification in Procurement or Supply chain ManagementMinimum 6 years of experience in procurement, Engineering purchasing, or supply chain management roles preferably in the marine or shipping industry.Experience with ERP systems#J-18808-Ljbffr
