Overview

Vice President - Design G role at ALDAR . Responsible for leading vertical and mixed‑use design activities across all projects under construction, ensuring adherence to standards and cost effectiveness. Lead the development of master plans that conform to Business Plans (BP) from Development Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall design direction on feasibility / test fits.
• Participate in predesign activities, including providing input and innovative ideas to development management and assisting with client design briefs.
• Oversee the creation of the Project Brief and the Scope sections of the RFP; participate in prequalification and assessments of consultants.
• Oversee tender evaluations for technical submissions and approve the Project Implementation Plan for each project.
• Establish and manage the Aldar Design Guidelines with input from DM and PDT; ensure design reviews align with Aldar specifications.
• Manage design progress against the programme and validate design brief / code compliance.
• Obtain necessary design NOCs in conjunction with government relations and secure utility / NOC permits through consultants to obtain Building Permits.
• Review and approve proposed materials, substitutes, and colours; ensure adherence to Estidama standards.
• Coordinate with consultants to ensure drawings and submittals reflect the project brief and handle deviations as needed.
• Provide support to project teams during execution and commissioning through design reviews for constructability, and identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs and time.
• Communicate all vertical design changes clearly to DM and related functions for forecast adjustments; work with Master Planning and Infrastructure teams to ensure design aligns with the overall plan.
• Carry out weekly and monthly progress reporting to the line manager.
