Scope
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for driving strategic growth, identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, and building long-term partnerships with construction developers and contractors both locally and internationally. This role involves leading the business development team, managing key client relationships, exploring new markets, and ensuring revenue and profitability targets are achieved in alignment with the company’s Net Zero steel initiatives and growth objectives.

Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement AGSI’s business development strategy in line with overall corporate objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new markets, customers, and business opportunities in local and international markets.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the company’s market position, brand recognition, and customer base focusing on the Net Zero steel initiatives.
Market and Business Development
Lead efforts in generating new contracts, tenders, and projects across the steel and allied industries.Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market intelligence to guide decision-making.Develop long-term partnerships with government agencies, EPC contractors, construction companies, and industrial clients.Explore opportunities in value-added products, downstream industries, and diversification.Client and Relationship Management
Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective engagement and support.Negotiate and finalize high-value contracts and agreements to maximize profitability.Make awareness to the developers and contractors about Net Zero steel and AGSI’s sustainability initiatives to make long term partnership in local and international markets.Knowledge of latest construction techniques, legal requirements.Should be able to educate the contractors or developers to use the Net Zero steel to be in line with ESG requirements.Revenue and Financial Performance
Achieve revenue growth, sales targets, and profitability objectives.Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance reports for business development activities.Identify cost-effective strategies to increase market penetration and profitability.Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development and sales teams to achieve organizational goals.Build a performance-driven culture within the department.Collaborate with production, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure delivery of client commitments.Essential knowledge and skills
Strong network within construction developers, contractors, oil & gas, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.Experience in international trade, export markets, and government relations (preferred)Proven track record of leading large-scale business development initiatives and securing major contractsLeadership and team-building abilitiesTechnical knowledge of civil works, construction materials, and infrastructure projectsAbility to create and deliver client presentations, especially PowerPoint presentations and / or white papersKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of annual sales and revenue targets.Market share growth in target regions.Number and value of new contracts secured.Customer satisfaction and retention rates.Successful entry into new markets or product segments.Brand awareness campaigns about Net Zero steel and AGSI’s sustainable initiatives.Desirable knowledge and skills
Minimum 12–15 years of experience in business development, sales, or project acquisition in the construction / infrastructure / civil / steel industry.Qualifications
